СОРТИРОВКА
Mechanical seal is the type of seal to use in rotating equipment to guarantee sealing of the shaft that transmits mechanical energy to movable operating element of pumps, compressors, chemical reactors, vacuum filters-drying machines, mixing machines etc., i.e. where two operating environments need to be separated to guarantee minimal efflux. Such devices are applied in hydrocarbon process industry, food and pharmaceutical industries. Specifically pumps and mixing machines are used in production of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, mineral water, oil, milk products, food supplements, food additives, pharmaceuticals etc.
Friction pair is the crucial component of the mechanical seal. Its material must have high wear-resistance and low frictional coefficient. According to its construction mechanical seals can be inner and outer, single and double.
The type of the seal’s construction largely depends on physicochemical properties of the environment for which the seal was designated: its state of aggregation (gas, liquid), pressure, temperature, viscosity, suspended solids and salts content, chemical aggressivity, flammability (while heating, in contact with atmospheric environment), potential health effects and environmental hazards.
The AvtokomTehnology group of companies is the official dealer of Kroma Ltd (Serbia), european mechanical seals manufacturer. We are ready to offer fine quality at a reasonable price.
Our specialists will select matching mechanical seals for pumps Grundfos, KSB, Hilge, Alfa Laval, APV, Wilo, Fristam, Ebara etc, and analogs of mechanical seals AESSEAL, Burgmann, John Crane, Roten, Vulcan.
Various types of mechanical seals are represented in our catalogue, it allows to select best possible option for any production problems solution.

- Name
- NM-1 / NM-12 / NM-13 Elastomer bellows mechanical seals
- Description
-
Mechanical seals with metal bellows are used if it is necessary to avoid using any elastomer components in the seals, for example, if they are used in the chemical processing industry. The main reason for rejecting elastomers, apart from their chemical disparity, also lies with the small temperature range for elastomer component application. More specifically, when either the maximum or the minimum temperature limit is exceeded, elsatomers will lose their function.
The production of metal bellows is based on connecting a big number of profiled lamels. The number of lamels is determined by the strength which the seal must achieve. The connection is welded.
Mechanical seals with metal bellows are suitable for use in operating conditions which are characterized by high temperature and high pressure. Besides, this type of seal can be used for sealing crystallizable liquids and liquids containing other solid substances, as the bellows are capable of self-purification based on the centrifugal force principle.
Analog:
Burgmann MF95N, John Crane 515 / 5515
Mechanical seals with metal bellows are recommended for sealing:

- Name
- NMM-2 Metal bellows mechanical seal
- Description
-
DIN 24960
Disadvantages of the central spring design: uneven load distribution along the friction belt in the couple due to the non-perpendicularity of the spring ends in relation to its axis, resulting in the couple being subject to unilateral wear, a comparatively large size of the spring in the axial direction and its inefficiency for large-sized shafts.
Mechanical seals with a set of small cylindrical springs have a smaller axial size than central spring seals and have no limitations as to the shaft diameter. By using a set of small springs, it is possible to increase unification of the Mechanical seal design: one and the same spring can be used for sealing different diameters. The sealing force can be adjusted by changing the number of springs and keeping constant the axial movement of the rigid element. The seal design ensures its low-cost maintenance due to easily replaceable parts. This kind of seal is often used in pumps at refineries, petrochemical plants and in the process industry. The secondary seal on the axis is completed by means of an O-ring or PTFE ring wedgewise.
The disadvantage of this kind of rigid elements is the small diameter (1 mm) of the spring wire, which makes its application in corrosive media limited.
The rigid element design based on a set of small springs is not recommended for use in media with solid inclusions.
The springs are quickly clogged with solid inclusions, which causes the rigid element to lose its axial movement ability. The more compact version allows it to be used in pumps for heating, in sludge and fecal pumps, as well as in food industry pumps.

- Name
- NV-1 Mechanical seal with set of small springs
- Description
-
DIN 24960
The mechanical seal with a spring in a metal case is recommended for sealing liquids containing solid substances or badly contaminated liquids, such as fuel oil. In such cases, it is not recommended to use multi-spring seals due to the risk of spring adhesion and jamming.
The secondary seal is completed by means of an O-ring.
The seal design ensures its low-cost repair, as its parts are easily replaceable.
A hydraulically relieved vesrion of the seal with one spring in a metal frame is available.

- Name
- NV-2 Mechanical seal with spring in metal case
- Description
-
DIN 24960
Seals with a corrugated spring are specifically recommended for use at thermal power stations. Apart from the fact that no cases of spring blocking have been observed, an additional advatnage is that it is possible to produce such seals with a smaller diameter, if necessary, but with the same spring pressure. Besides, the spring design envisages special metal frames, in which the springs are inserted, and the seal can be used whichever the direction of shaft rotation is.
A relieved version of the seal with one corrugated spring is available.

CHEM NM-3 mechanical seal with a sylphon from teflon
Analog:
AESSEAL B08, Burgmann TF92 / TF95 / TF97, John Crane 10R / 10T
When sealing chemically aggressive corrosive fluids, problems with compatibility of metal seal elements with the working medium to be sealed may often occur. For such cases, CHEM NM-3 seal is recommended, which does not have any metal components in contact with the working fluid. For this reason, it is often used in the chemical industry. Secondary sealing is completed by means of a PTFE bellows, and no elastomers are used, which are normally not resistant to acids. This type of seal is often used in the chemical industry and petrochemistry. The function of the seal does not depend on the direction of shaft rotation. The design of the seal ensures its maximum resistance to the fluid film. In view of the seal design and selected faces, we recommend this seal for sealing chemically aggressive and corrosive fluids.
Materials used for sealing faces:
Seal rotating part:
PTFE - glass impregnated (teflon - glass)
PTFE - graphite impregnated
PTFE - coke impregnated
Seal mating part:
carbographite
silicon carbide
ceramics
Operating limits:
СЂ = 8 bars
t = -40 ... 160В°C

- Name
- CHEM NV-4 Mechanical seal for use in chemically aggressive liquids
- Description
-
DIN 24960
The following force factors impact the rotating ring of the friction couple: pressure, spring strength, friction of the rubber sealing ring on the shaft and average contact pressure.
The hydraulic relief results from contact pressure reduction in the friction couple, for which purpose the shaft is step-shaped.
Thus, a trouble-free and durable operation of the mechanical seal is ensured at a pressure of up to 25 bars and a speed of up to 20 m/s (the highets Р’РЎ parameter).
The mechanical seal of BV-1 type is often used in pumps in refineries, petrochemical plants and process industry.
The secondary seal is made on the shaft by means of an O-ring or PTFE ring wedgewise.
The seal design ensures low-cost maintenance due to the use of easily replaceable parts.

- Name
- BV-1 Balanced mechanical seals
- Description
-
DIN 24960
The mechanical seal design of BV-2 type prevents the springs from contacting the delivery fluid and due to this problems which occur with other multi-spring seals are avoided. The profiled sealing surface of the rotating part provides for good hydraulic relief, making it possible to use the BV-2 type mechanical seal at a pressure of up to 40 bars.
Different types of sealing materials can be easily used due to the simple replacement process and commonality of the sealing surface.
The replacement of all seal components is easy and requires minimal cost, which makes seal repair an easy and inexpensive procedure.

- Name
- BV-2 Balanced mechanical seals
- Description
-
DIN 24960
By installing a case on the shaft in the seal location, or by having a shaft outpur with a different diameter in the seal location, the resulting seal design uses the pressure of the substance to balance forces on the sealing surfaces of the mechanical seal.
Thus, a trouble-free and durable operation of the mechanical seal is ensured at a pressure of up to 25 bars and a speed of up to 20 m/s (the highest ""DC"" value).
The sealing face combination is selected in accordance with the substance used and operating conditions.
The secondary seal is made of O-rings having a quality grade consistent with the substance.
The other elements of the seal are made of nickel chrome steel.

The segment sealing ring is a sealing element consisting of a large number of segments surrounded by a spring. The number of segments depends on the shaft diameter, which can be as big as 2000 mm. When the device is operating, the working fluid acts evenly over the external diameter of the ring, and thus the spring is used only for supporting the segment assembly until sufficient working fluid pressure is reached.
The required number of rings depends on the working pressure. For sealing high-pressure devices, a set of segment sealing rings is used. The number of ring segments depends on the shaft diameter. When the number of segments is increased, a more even pressure is achieved. We recommend three-segment rings for shafts of up to 2000 mm in diameter, and six-segment rings for larger diameters.
Advantages:
- exceptional sealing efficiency even at small axial lengths
- it is possible to offset axial and radial shaft deviations at no cost to sealing efficiency.
- the segment sealing rings are characterized by simple installation and maintenance, in addition to being easily replaceable
Application:
- for steam turbines
- for water turbines
- for compressors
- for fans
Operating conditions:
- pressure: 80 bars
- temperature: 500oC
- speed: 50m/s
Material:
- carbographite – the quality depends on operating conditions
- alloyed teflon - the quality depends on operating conditions
Segment sealing rings are used for sealing under axial pitching of the compressor piston rod with a dry working fluid. Teflon is the most common material used for manufacturing axial sealing rings. The type of design and material quality are selected as per operating conditions.

These carbographite sealing rings are connecting elements between the mating and rotating parts. Besides performing the sealing function in high-temperature and high-pressure conditions, they also absorb vibration. The carbographite seats are used in locations characterized by large amounts of high-temperature gases and steam, as well as where standard seat materials are inadequate.
They are most commonly used in:
- the chemical industry
- the paper industry
- the rubber industry
- refineries
- tankers where the valve function may not be disrupted in case of fire

The continuous casting process is used increasingly more often to replace the conventional rod and tube manufacturing process. It is particularly advatageous for some metals such as cast iron, copper, aluminium, and precious metals (gold, silver, etc.). Depending on application, we supply flat and cylindrical dies of required shapes and dimensions.

Electroerosion machining (EEM) is based on the material surface layer destruction principle under external electrical discharge impacts.
The materials used for the manufacture of electrodes shall have a high level of erosion resitance and ensure stable operation within the entire EEM operating range and maximum prooductivity with little wear and tear. Graphite is one of the materials having the best characteristics in respect of electrode erosion resistance and EEM process stability.
The advantages of graphite as a material for electrode production: heat resistance, electrical conductivity, resistance to different mechanical deformation conditions and temperature deformations.- Graphite electrodes in the chemical industry
- Graphite electrodes in the electric arc furnace
Graphite electrodes of erosimates
- Name
- Graphite electrodes in the process and chemical industries
- Description
-
Advantages of graphite as a component production material in the chemical and process industries:
- good corrosion resistance
- good heat conductivity (up to 140W/(mВ·K)) and resistance to sharp temperature fluctuations
- heat stability in non-oxidizing atmosphere up to 3000ВєC
- heat stability in oxidizing atmosphere up to 500ВєC
- easily machinable using standard methods
Having the above advantages, the material is used for component production in the petrochemical industry (hydrochloric acid synthesizing plants, sewage and exhaust gas treatment plants, heat exchangers).

The rotary joints for unidirectional flow are used if the fluid medium is supplied at one end of the cylinder and exits at the other end, and there is only one liquid flow through one rotary joint. In such cases, two rotary joints are used - one at the process input and the other at the process output.

The steam head (rotary connection) is a machine assembly which ensures supply of the working medium (steam) from the system to the rotary equipment, as well as simultaneous condensate removal from the rotary equipment to the stationary system. It does not require any additional lubrication or sealing; it is easily mounted and dismantled as a separate assembly unit. The steam head is a self-regulating unit, which compensates for thermal expansion caused by equipment heating and cooling.
